The day will offer an opportunity for a reunion of former Post Office / Royal Mail staff who were part of the TPO service. And with our TPO carriages and their displays as a centrepiece for the event, there will be ample opportunities for visitors to reminisce and exchange stories.

The day will also feature 100 years of Morris Commercial with the Post Office Vehicle Club!

An event for all Morris and Austin historic commercial vehicles with particular reference to all types of ex Royal Mail and Post Office Telephones vehicles.

Emergency Services Day Emergency Services Day Emergency Services Day 2024

This is our special community day when we celebrate our Emergency Services and raise awareness for local charities, clubs and societies from our local community. Our Emergency Services come along and bring their vehicles for visitors to admire (of course, their presence here is subject to emergency call outs, as usual). The whole heritage railway will be open as usual, so visitors can enjoy all the usual fun of a Steaming Day at The Railway!

Please be aware that although the fire department do always send a fire engine, so far, each year they have been here, they have been called out to an emergency at some point during the event. This year, we are hoping for a heritage fire engine or two to come along as well which worked really well last year!

Special admission price of only £7 each - under 3s go free as usual.

PLUS! Like last year, all Emergency Services personnel (including NHS, Police and fire service workers) get FREE ENTRY! Simply show your work ID when you arrive, but you must pre-book tickets for the other members of your party. This event sells out faster than any other event, so please pre-book to avoid disappointment!

Steam train rides with a full size steam locomotive, see The Railway Museum, ride the Miniature Railway, watch the model trains and visit the Visitor Centre. The gift shop and café will be open!
